Physiotherapy Insurance
Our treatments are classified as 'Physiotherapy'. If you have been in an
auto accident, 100% of the cost of your treatments will be
covered by auto insurance. If you have extended healthcare
benefits, you may claim your treatments as 'Physiotherapy'. We are an
approved physiotherapy clinic for Veterans and accept The Department of Veterans
Affairs benefit plans. For more information see
Insurance.
We will not treat pregnant women over the abdomen or lower
back with laser therapy due to potential ocular damage to the baby.
If you are taking photoreactive drugs, i.e. Photofrin
TM, or
are undergoing any other form of photodynamic therapy (PDT), you cannot be
treated with laser therapy due to the risk of potentially activating the
photoreactive drug. Ask your doctor if you are uncertain if any medication you
are taking is photoreactive.
Because of the increased penetration of the
BioFlex Professional Laser System, treatment directly over malignant lesions is
not recommended.
The aforementioned are precautions. In over
2,000 reported studies, there continues to be
no report of any significant side effects associated with the use of
LILT.
