Insurance Coverage Extended Healthcare Insurance Most extended healthcare plans include physiotherapy and massage therapy. Laser therapy is included under physiotherapy and massage therapy treatment. Patients should review their policy prior to attending the clinic to see if a doctor's prescription for physiotherapy is required for benefit coverage. Not all plans require a doctor's prescription for coverage to apply. Motor Vehicle Accident and Personal Injury Insurance LightSpeed is an approved physiotherapy clinic for motor vehicle accident claimants. If you are in a car accident, your auto insurance will pay 100% of your treatment plan. We will provide you with the necessary forms, assist you with filing a claim and bill your auto insurance directly at no extra charge. If you have been in a car accident, a doctor's prescription is not required for your treatments to be covered by your insurance company. Our physiotherapists are trained to assess neck and back injuries, as well as a host of other injuries that may have happened after a car accident. It may take three or four days after a car accident before you begin to experience pain associated with whiplash or referred pain from your injuries. It is advisable to seek professional medical attention as soon as you begin to develop pain symptoms. A physiotherapist can advise you to see your doctor if necessary. Private Physiotherapy LightSpeed is a private clinic. A doctor's prescription is not required if you are attending as a private patient. Payments may be made by VISA, MasterCard, Debit Card, American Express, Cheque or Cash. We will give you a detailed receipt for your treatments that you may use for an income tax deduction. Department of Veteran Affairs LightSpeed is an approved physiotherapy clinic for veterans. Most veterans are eligible to receive up to $800.00 per year in physiotherapy and massage therapy. Please contact the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) for details of your benefits 1-866-522-2122. Please have your Health Identification Card or CF Unit Number available when you first attend our clinic. We will bill the Department of Veteran Affairs directly for your physiotherapy and massage treatments. WSIB Patients LightSpeed is an approved Workplace Safety & Insurance Board clinic. We accept WSIB claimants. Our staff will provide WSIB and your employer with the necessary reports as you progress through your treatments.
